Whistle While You Work

Photobucket

This afternoon the girls were playing outside (thank goodness for this beautiful weather!!!) and I asked Bethany to sweep the birdseed off the porch. She was the one who dumped it all over the porch and her sister thought it was for her to eat. Anyway, she ran and got the broom gladly. Weird. I got tickled when I noticed she was still wearing her Snow White shoes from playing dress up earlier. Silly girl.

Today was a big milestone for Miss Landry. Her first "whalespout" pigtail! Actually, her hair was barely long enough to stay in the rubber band. It sure didn't make a whalespout! I had to document it, though. :) She's trying to get over being sick, but is having a really hard time. Don't look too close. You'll see all kinds of stuff crusted all over her face. Poor thing.

The Last Year of my Life

The last year of my life has been many things. Blessed is the word I'd have to say covers it best. That's because God gave us YOU, our sweet Landry Gayle, one year ago.

Photobucket

At first, we thought you looked just like your sister, but once you opened your eyes it was evident that you would look just like YOU instead!

Photobucket

You were such a wonderful happy baby! You only cried if you were hungry or tired. We were ever so grateful for that. Thank you! It's so hard to remember when you were this small and would just sleep on my chest.

Photobucket

You have been a bow-head from the very beginning. You were always great about keeping them on!

Photobucket

Photobucket

You've been quite the over-achiever in the mobility department! You could push your chest up and hold up your head at just a couple months old.

Photobucket

Then, you crawled at 5 months! I was really looking forward to that stage when you would sit up by yourself, but not move anywhere. Well, that didn't happen since you crawled before you could sit. Crazy girl!

Photobucket

You were pulling up to stand by 6 months.

(just had to throw that one in b/c I know you'll hate me for it one day!)

One thing that I love (right now anyway) is that you suck your thumb. I know I'll have to break you of it someday, but for now it's wonderful!

Photobucket

You are a bit of a picky eater my dear! For a long time the only thing you would eat was bananas. In fact, to this day, bananas are the only fruit you will even put in your mouth. You'll eat peas and green beans, though.

Photobucket

Photobucket

You were a good sport at Halloween and wore that lion costume at least 3 times! But oh, how cute were you???

Photobucket

Of course, you had to start walking early, too! At 9 months and a few weeks, you were taking several steps at a time.

Photobucket

Your personality is so strong - I love it! You are funny and love to laugh. Your favorite person to laugh at is your sister - you think she's hilarious!

Photobucket

When you want something, you want it RIGHT THEN and if you don't get it, well, let's just say it's not pretty. You are getting much better, though, about communicating verbally, so it's getting better. You say lots of words now. Just off the top of my head - mama, dada, milk, down, more, please, duck, ball, cracker, no, and you make sheep, monkey and lion sounds.

You've got some chubby little cheeks (and thighs. and belly). You'd play outside all day if I let you! Even if it's cold. Many a day I've had to bundle you up to go outside because you were having a fit at the door to go out and eat sand.

Photobucket

Your birthday party was great fun! Not only did we get to spend time with friends and family that mean so much to us, but we got to celebrate a whole year of YOU!

We love you so much Landry. We thank God every single day that he blessed us with your sweet spirit. We are so blessed to be your parents and we pray that you will be blessed to have us as your parents. We love you. Happy 1st Birthday Baby Girl!!!

Happy Birthday!

Happy belated birthday to my sweet hubby! Here are the promised pictures. When Bethany and I got home from dance class, we sang Happy Birthday to Daddy and ate "cake." Rice Krispie Treats are his favorite dessert (maybe aside from creme brulee, and well, that just wasn't going to happen), so we made him a RKT cake. He loved it! Apparantly so did Bethany. The next morning when she woke up, she said groggily, "I need a piece of Daddy's birthday cake." It's cereal, right? Agree with me - I did let her have a piece for breakfast. Anyway, here are the pics.

Bethany "decorating" the cake.

The beautiful final product.

The cake, the loot, and the butterfly Bethany made for him (thanks Shannon for the link to that website - it's awesome!). I've been requested to add the website - http://www.notimeforflashcards.com/ Enjoy!!!

My Latest Venture

You may have noticed that I've been posting more domestic (crafts, cooking, decorating, etc) things lately. I've been thinking that my family and friends are visiting this blog to see and read about my family and not what I'm doing around the house. So...I've decided to start a new blog about all things domestic. I've found that blogging about these things is helping me be better at them. Homemaking is not something that comes naturally to me. It's something that I WANT to be good at, but I have to make a concerted effort to be so. All that to say, if you would like to check out my new blog, it's www.mydomesticdisaster.blogspot.com. Come by and leave me a comment. Sometime this week I'm going to be doing a giveaway and anyone who leaves a comment will be entered to win some awesome monogrammed goodies!!!!!

By the way, today is Raymond's 32nd birthday! Bethany and I made him a 2 tiered Rice Krispie Treat cake. I'll post pics of it after we decorate it!
